What is radiology?
Radiology is the medical specialty which uses different types of imaging of the internal body (bones or tissue) to assist with diagnosis of damage or disease.
Te Whatu Ora Lakes' Radiology service is led from Rotorua Hospital and oversees radiology in Taupō Hospital.

You may be referred to the radiology department either by your GP, Emergency Department or Outpatients or as part of your inpatient stay in our hospitals.
We encourage our patients to ask questions to assist them to make informed decisions regarding their imaging procedure. We will always try to answer all questions to the best of our ability.
