Restricted visiting at Rotorua and Taupō Hospitals

Lakes DHB has restricted visitor numbers in its hospitals due to there now being Covid-19 in the community.
Our visiting hours are 11am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm.
All named support people/caregivers need to report to Lakes DHB staff on arrival and must:
- Wear a face mask or covering, observe strict hand hygiene and physical distance
- NOT have any Covid-19 symptoms or be otherwise unwell
Support people allowed as below:
ED/ICU/CCU - one support person at a time for a child under 16 or a vulnerable adult being treated in ED/ICU at discretion of ED co-ordinator.
Maternity - one continuous support person with a birthing woman.
SCBU/Mothercraft/Children's Unit - For a child under 16 one support person in hospital and a second parent/guardian/person as an additional named support person.
Theatre - No support person unless the patient is under 18 or is vulnerable.
Emergency/trauma - one support person as determined by the clinical team.
End of life care - Patients who are receiving end-of-life care can have two consistent support persons.
Outpatients - support people with children, palliative and oncology patients
No entry for any support person with known Covid-19 contact or symptoms.
Support person of patients with COVID are only permitted at discretion of unit clinical nurse manager or duty manager.
