Primary and Community Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP)
The PDRP manual outlines the procedures around submitting a PDRP portfolio and guides you to complete the requirements for submission.
Professional Development Recognition Programme:
Competence is demonstrated by meeting NCNZ competencies and standards for the relevant scopt of practice and the requirements for competency based practicing certificates.
Nursing Council New Zealand (NCNZ) as the regulatory body for nurses within New Zealand sets the standards and requirements for nurses.
There are two ways nurses may demonstrate competence, either through NCNZ audit process or through completing a NCNZ approved PDRP programme.
Not all sectors or organisations have an approved PDRP programme, therefore LDHB is offering the Hospital and Specialist Secondary Services PDRP programme to nurses working within the community who do not have access to an approved programme.
The following information outlines the process and requirements for the PDRP and also has links to NCNZ information on recertification audit requirements for those not on an approved PDRP programme.
