Continued education for the health workforce

Applications for 2025 funding open September 9, 2024

Applications are accepted through our online learning platform Ko Awatea Learn.

As this is a secure site, an individual username and password will be needed for each nurse to access the application form, Te Whatu Ora Lakes staff have access to this site as employees.

If you have staff who may wish to apply for funding your organisation will need to have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Te Whatu Ora Lakes regarding this access.

Please get in touch as soon as possible with Rachel Wainohu to begin this process as it can take up to two weeks to get everything in order.

For those who already have their MOU in place and can access Ko Awatea here is a link to the HWD funding area.

The area is open now and has a tab called Career Planning. This area holds a template for career planning .

There is also a Q&A forum where nurses can ask questions.

These questions will be answered directly in the forum so will eventually build a FAQ area.

Funding allocation will be communicated to applicants in early December.

We recommend that applicants enroll in their preferred paper ASAP prior to being allocated funding to ensure their place.
