Lakes DHB COVID testing centre hours
23/02/2021 2:54:59 p.m.

Lakes DHB COVID testing centres in Rotorua and Taupō will be open tomorrow Wednesday 23 February and Thursday 24 February from 9am to 3pm.

From Thursday 24 February they will return to normal opening hours three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 9am to 3pm (see below for table)

The testing centres are at:

• Rotorua at Kahukura Rugby Sports Club, 1475 Pukuatua Street
• Taupō at 79 Miro Street

The testing centre hours were increased recently (to daily) when the country changed to Alert Level 2 following community cases in Auckland.

Numbers of people to be tested have reduced this week, so the testing centre hours are returning to the usual three days a week. The hours can be increased if and when necessary.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, get a test and stay home until you get a negative result. Call Healthline for Covid-19 advice and information on 0800 358 5453.

To check for testing centres, opening hours and to find other testing providers go to the Healthpoint website.

Covid-19 Symptoms include:
• a new or worsening cough
• a fever of at least 38°C
• shortness of breath
• sore throat
• sneezing and runny nose
• temporary loss of smell.

These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as colds and flu.

Shortness of breath is a sign of possible pneumonia and requires immediate medical attention.

Throughout all Alert levels, everyone must continue to do their bit to keep New Zealand COVID free.

• Stay home if you’re unwell and get tested.
• Wear a mask or face covering on all flights and public transport, including on long-distance bus and train journeys and on most ferries.
• Keep track of where you’ve been - scan QR codes using the NZ COVID Tracer app and enable Bluetooth tracing on your device. Check that you have Bluetooth tracing enabled on the dashboard of the NZ COVID Tracer app. If you don’t, turn it on now. If you aren’t able to use the app, download or request a COVID Tracer booklet, keep a calendar or diary.
• Practice good hygiene (includes washing your hands often and coughing into your elbow)
• Regularly clean high touch surfaces.
