Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (iCAMHS)

We are a community service that provides specialist, assessment, diagnosis and treatment for infants / pēpi, children / tamariki and youth / rangatahi. 

We usually see people aged 0 - 18, however where there is concerns for those individuals outside the usual age range we can be consulted to determine appropriate service.

We have two Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service teams that cover the Lakes DHB region and operate from two sites:

1. Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Rotorua
2. Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Southern Lakes

How to access

We accept referrals from: 

  • General Practitioners (GP's)
  • Doctors
  • Public Health Nurses
  • Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS)
  • Health Professionals
  • Schools
  • Other Agencies
  • and Self Referral (If your child is 16 or over they may make a self referral).

For all Referrals please fill out the supplied Referral Form  or drop-in to our office where there are also forms available.
